Joseph P. Wood is the author of two full collections of poetry, Fold of the Map (Salmon Poetry Ltd, Spring 2013) and I & We (CW Books, 2010), as well has five chapbooks. His poems, essays, and reviews have been published in various journals, such as Beloit Poetry Jounal, BOMB, Boston Review, Colorado Reivew, Gently Read Literature, Gulf Coast, Hotel Amerika, Hunger Mountain, Indiana Review, Poetry London, Prairie Schooner, Rain Taxi, RealPoetik,Verse, West Branch, among others. He’s held residencies at Djerassi Resident Artists Program and at Artcroft.
Wood received his MFA in Creative Writing from The University of Arizona in 2000. He teaches creative writing, English and American literature, and composition at The University of Alabama. In 2009, he co-founded Slash Pine Press, an undergrad internship that focuses on immersion learning and community arts. Now run by a committee of four members, the internship focuses on book arts, arts event planning, PR, and other iterations of community art.
